Tales of Middle Earth

It was an honor to design a fully custom logo for the MTG+Lord of the Rings Partnership.

In addition to custom typography and effects, I also delivered a chunk of the full packaging suite, including these commander boxes.

SET logo Sketches

Here’s a glimpse behind the curtain, showing some of my original notebook sketches for the logo design.

This was a particularly challenging Set Logo - Nine words long! The Lord of the Rings was required to be prominent, with Tales of Middle Earth below.

Final Design

After a sketch was chosen by the ADs, I found a typeface to serve as my base design and worked out the details.

From there, I applied a custom-built effect for a shiny gold vibe.
